An RFID tunnel is an advanced tag reading and encoding system. It uses a single reader with multiple antennas and a conveyor system. They are ideal for situations involving high throughput. The goods simply need to be placed on a conveyor belt, and counting or reconciliation is automatically done. This is made possible with a combination of RFID tags, the reader, and antennas housed within the tunnel which facilitates quick reads.

Cartons with the products are placed on a conveyor belt.

RFID readers in the tunnel are able to scan individual products even without cartons being opened.

An integrated screen or app shows the required data: What products are in the carton, how many, and any other data. This can be customised based on customer requirements.

Customisability

The size, features and display of the RFID tunnels can be tailored to individual customers’ needs. These are manufactured in-house and linked to our IoT universe, izeIoT which offers several benefits to customers.

Retail

RFID tunnels enable retailers to keep track of inventory in bulk. RFID tunnels allow for rapid counting and categorization of inventory without the need for unboxing. Items can be tagged according to garment type, origin and more. Tunnels may be deployed at any part of the journey - from manufacture, to warehouse, to store. This streamlines the entire supply chain process, ensuring that stock levels are always accurate and reducing manual counting errors.

Logistics

Tunnels may be used to enable automated shipping and receiving in large warehouses. Cartons with tagged items pass through these tunnels as they enter or leave the premises. The system automatically updates the warehouse management software, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against expected inventory without the need for manual checks.
